Message from the Department Chair

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching, housed within the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, was established to train physical education teachers who are well-equipped, modern, innovative, and committed to ethical values, with the aim of supporting individuals’ lifelong physical, mental, and social development.

Our program aims to provide students with a solid academic foundation in sports sciences, educational sciences, and applied sports. Through a broad range of courses—from basic medical sciences to educational psychology, from exercise science and sports pedagogy to specialized practical training—we equip our students with both theoretical and practical knowledge.

The academic staff in our department consists of highly qualified faculty members who actively participate in scientific research, projects, and academic activities at both national and international levels. We provide comprehensive support to help our students develop not only their teaching skills but also their research, leadership, and communication skills.

Additionally, through the internship and practical training opportunities available to our students, they gain experience in real school environments, ensuring they are well-prepared for their professional lives after graduation. Believing in the transformative impact of sports on both individuals and society, our department aims to nurture graduates who serve as role models not only within the classroom but in every aspect of life.

The primary goal of our department is to train qualified physical education teachers who uphold national values, embrace scientific thinking, and are committed to fostering a culture of healthy living within society.
