Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University was established by Law No. 6640, published in the Official Gazette dated April 23, 2015, and numbered 29335. The institutes within the university were put into operation by a Cabinet Decree published in the Official Gazette on the same date.

The Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department and the Coaching Education Department, both within the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, commenced their educational activities by accepting students in the 2021-2022 academic year; while the Sports Management Department started accepting students in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Our faculty commenced its undergraduate and graduate education activities in 2021; scientific research conducted concurrently with the educational process has gained increasing momentum each year. Closely following national and international developments in the field of Sports Sciences, our faculty adopts an approach that takes regional and local needs into account.

Accordingly, our faculty, within the framework of its Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Coaching Education, and Sports Management departments and main disciplines, evaluates its current situation on a national and international scale, identifies priority areas for development, and plans research and development and education and training activities in line with these analyses.
