A Meeting with External Stakeholders for the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Program Was Held

An External Stakeholder Meeting was held online (via Zoom) on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 14:00 by the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Program. The meeting aimed to evaluate the program's educational processes, gather feedback from external stakeholders, and enhance existing collaborations.

The meeting was attended by the Faculty’s Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Aydın Karaçam; the Head of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Büşra Süngü; and department faculty members Lecturer Melike Bakırcı and Research Assistant Dr. İrem Bozdağ. External stakeholders participating in the meeting included Bandırma District Sports Director İsmail Güzsoy, as well as Physical Education teachers Şah Abdullah Şahan (Korgeneral Enver Akoğlu Secondary School), Sevin Topoğlu (Bandırma Atatürk Special Education Secondary School), and Esra Ören (Şehit Mehmet Günenç Anatolian High School).

The meeting primarily focused on the student teaching practicum processes conducted within the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Program. Evaluations were made regarding the stages students must follow during the practicum, the duties and responsibilities expected of them at the practicum schools, and the tasks and procedures to be carried out by the supervising teachers. To ensure the practicum is conducted in a more systematic, efficient, and high-quality manner, current practices were reviewed, and views were exchanged regarding areas for development and potential improvement initiatives. In the subsequent part of the meeting, the educational processes for the 2026-2027 academic year were evaluated, and the views and suggestions of external stakeholders were solicited regarding the program's current practices, students' professional development, and activities conducted with partner schools. Discussions focused on measures to enhance the quality of educational activities, strengthen the link between theoretical knowledge and practice, and better equip students for the teaching profession.

Emphasis was placed on existing and potential cooperation protocols aimed at strengthening collaboration among the university, schools, and relevant public institutions. Participants shared views on increasing joint activities, diversifying opportunities for student practicums and professional experience, and ensuring sustainable inter-institutional coordination.

Furthermore, potential joint projects and activities involving both program faculty and external stakeholders were evaluated; ideas were exchanged regarding project topics—particularly in the fields of physical education and sports—that could benefit students, schools, and the community. The scope of future joint projects, the contributions stakeholders could make to the process, and potential areas of collaboration were discussed.

During the Q&A session, participants shared their views, suggestions, and assessments regarding teaching practicums, educational processes, and inter-institutional cooperation. A consensus was reached to incorporate the feedback received from external stakeholders into the planning of efforts to develop and improve the program's educational processes. Following the exchange of views and suggestions among the participants, the meeting concluded with the expression of a desire to continue the communication and cooperation established with external stakeholders in the future.
