As part of the Sports Organization course, a trekking event was held on the Kapıdağ Peninsula.

As part of the Youth Week activities, students from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Serkan HACICAFEROĞLU, explored the unique natural beauty of the Kapıdağ Peninsula through a trekking (nature walk) event organized within the framework of the "Organization in Sports" course. In addition to the Faculty of Sports Sciences students, faculty members and students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching also participated. Furthermore, students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching actively contributed to the successful planning and execution of the event.

Throughout the event, which took place in close contact with nature, students experienced the positive effects of physical activity on health while simultaneously developing their environmental awareness and understanding of nature. The walk, conducted on trails where green and blue meet, helped students escape the hectic pace of daily life and rejuvenate both mentally and physically.

During the event, students had the opportunity to practically develop their teamwork, communication, leadership, and coordination skills. Participants, supporting each other through challenging terrain, experienced the importance of cooperation in achieving common goals. Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department students, who were part of the organizing team, gained practical experience in event management by actively taking responsibility in the planning, coordination, and implementation processes of the event. This process strengthened students' problem-solving, resilience, and effective teamwork skills, while also contributing to the development of social and managerial competencies they will need in their future professional lives.

The trekking event, which saw high participation from Faculty of Sports Sciences students, significantly contributed to strengthening social bonds among students and increasing their sense of belonging to the university. This meaningful event, which combined nature and sport, stood out as a valuable experience supporting both the personal and professional development of students, and was considered one of the successful examples of the faculty's applied education approach.
