As part of the Youth Week activities, students from the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department and the Sports Management Department of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University organized an "Equestrian" event under the "Organization in Sports" course led by Prof. Dr. Serkan HACICAFEROĞLU.
The event was attended by academic staff and numerous students. Students learned about the basic principles of equestrian sports and had the opportunity to experience the practical aspects of equestrian sports. The event included practical training on safe communication with horses, basic riding techniques, balance, coordination, and correct posture skills.
Throughout the event, which took place in nature, students had the opportunity to observe that equestrian sports contribute not only to physical performance but also to the development of attention, discipline, patience, and self-confidence. Through their interaction with horses, participants learned to take responsibility, develop empathy, and work in harmony with living beings. The equestrian event contributed to students' understanding of different sports branches and highlighted the multifaceted effects of sport on individual development.
Participants gained awareness of the historical and cultural significance of equestrian sports, while also having the opportunity to experience firsthand the aspects of the sport that strengthen the bond between humans and nature. Organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences, the event supported students not only in developing their athletic skills but also in their social development, sense of responsibility, and environmental awareness. The highly successful event once again highlighted the educational, cultural, and personal developmental contributions of sport.
