A Hemsball activity was held at Bandırma Atatürk Primary School as part of the D.O.S.T. Project.
As part of the D.O.S.T. Project, conducted by the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, a Hemsball event was held at Bandırma Atatürk Primary School on May 20th.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Kamil Uzgur and Research Assistant Ozan Burak Akduman from our Faculty of Sports Sciences, with the participation of students from the Physical Education and Sports Teaching and Coaching Education Departments.
Primary school students had the opportunity to experience Hemsball for the first time. The basic rules and application of the game were introduced to the students through fun activities, and the children actively participated in the applications held at different stations. The event, which attracted great interest, allowed students to both experience a new sport and have fun while being active.
University students, meanwhile, took on the roles of organization, implementation, and guidance, interacting directly with the children throughout the event. This allowed them to develop their professional knowledge and skills in a real-world application environment, while also gaining valuable experience in terms of community service and social responsibility.
D.O.S.T. This event, conducted as part of the project, aimed to increase children's interest in sports, support them in developing physical activity habits, and strengthen university-school cooperation. At the end of the event, the students' interest and enthusiasm for the Hemsball game presented a gratifying picture in terms of achieving the project's goals.
