General Information

The Department of Coaching Education began admitting students in 2021 and is one of the four undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Sport Sciences. The program lasts four years, and the language of instruction is Turkish. Throughout their undergraduate education, students are trained as sports educators and coaches specializing in various team and individual sports designated by the faculty.

Objectives

The Department of Coaching Education aims to educate sports instructors and coaches who specialize in different team and individual sports, value ethical principles, and regard the protection of athlete health and safety as a fundamental responsibility. Graduates are expected to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-level performance, follow scientific and technological developments in their respective sports, coach athletes of all ages, conduct performance tests, and perform talent identification and guidance.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Department of Coaching Education, applicants must first obtain the minimum score determined by the department for the relevant year in the Higher Education Institutions Examination. They must then successfully complete the Special Talent Examination (ÖZYES) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from the Department of Coaching Education, students must meet the graduation and diploma requirements specified in Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University's Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation and successfully complete courses totaling at least 240 credits during the four-year program.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Department of Coaching Education may work as coaches or sports specialists in units affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports, the Department of Education, sports federations, and autonomous federations. They may also work as coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, or match analysts in amateur and professional sports clubs.
